Los Angeles Dodgers utility player Hyeseong Kim had another impressive showing on Wednesday night against the New York Mets, and he has a message for the organization.
Kim, since coming up from Triple-A Oklahoma City, has been playing well with the Dodgers after getting the chance once Mookie Betts got hurt.
He can play shortstop, among second base and the outfield, though he has mainly been in the shortstop platoon with Miguel Rojas, depending on the match-up.
In eight games played, he has a .278/.391/.500 with a home run and 0.3 fWAR. His wRC+ of 146 is great as well, though it is a small sample size to draw too many conclusions from.

The overarching truth is that he is noticeably better at the plate than in his rookie year, and he is playing great defense at shortstop.
His positional flexibility is valued within the organization, and his speed also adds a notable element to the team.
On Wednesday night, his full array of skills was on display. He made a great driving play at shortstop and hit a two-run home run.
After the game, Kim made it clear that he wants a spot on the roster and is doing his best to secure it.
I’m happy for sure, just being able to play at the major league level, it’s obviously a lot of fun. And I want to stay at the major league level,” Kim said.
“I’m trying to show it with my actions and how I go about my day, and I’ll show it on the field.”
Despite the fact that Kim wants to make the roster and it is likely high on his list of priorities, the Korean is also intent on improving above all else and wants to become the best he can be, letting everything else play out.
“I was obviously super happy running the bases, and because it was our first run, I felt like I was able to help in that sense. But also, after that, I struck out three times, so a little down on myself,” Kim said through interpreter Dean Kim
“I believe there are a lot of things that I could get better at that I need to work on, and just by having the best coaching staff, all I really have to do is just follow their lead, communicate with them, and take their instructions. Following their instruction is all I need to do.”
The Dodgers’ roster crunch is getting harder as Kim shines, though it is certainly a good problem to have.
