Zero is back, better known as Illinois men's basketball power forward David Mirković. Mirković took to Twitch on Wednesday to share his plans for his sophomore season in Champaign in the only way he knew how: suspense.
It began with a reposted Instagram story from the Illinois Men's Basketball account of Mirković notifying his followers to hop on Twitch at 3 p.m. ET (2 p.m. CT). After answering fan questions for the first 25 minutes, Mirković said he needed to "lock in" before giving a speech about what this past season meant to him.
Among everything discussed, Mirković, who averaged 13.3 points and 8 rebounds this past season, teased that he would change his major to creative writing instead of Recreation, Sport and Tourism (his current major at the university), which left everyone confused.
A few minutes went by as 2:25 p.m. CT came and went before Mirković mysteriously disappeared as he was about to reveal his plans.
Then, it happened.

A message that only former Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan would be proud of appeared on the screen, leaving over 3,000 viewers jubilant.
"I'm back," Mirković's message read.
It's all the Illini Nation needed to hear as a few of his teammates are still awaiting their decisions, too. A user on "X" (formerly Twitter) smartly pointed out that former Wisconsin Badgers guard John Blackwell was also part of the stream, potentially meaning that an announcement from Blackwell himself could also be in the works.
Nonetheless, this move for Mirković to stay put couldn't be bigger for coach Brad Underwood. Underwood made it clear following the Illini's Final Four exit that he wanted much of the team to return.

With guard Keaton Wagler off to the NBA Draft, Mirković was the next big domino Illinois retained. Much work is still to be done, but with a few weeks to go before a busy month of May decisions loom, the Illini appear to have their first piece intact.
Only time will tell.
