The Indiana Fever have signed guard Bree Hall to a player development contract, filling their final roster spot after losing their season opener. Hall, a second-round pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, returns to the Fever after previous hardship contracts with the team and the Golden State Valkyries.
Just a few days after the Indiana Fever (0-1) dropped their 2026 WNBA regular-season opener to the Dallas Wings (1-0) from Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the team officially filled their final roster spot. The Fever announced it has signed guard Bree Hall to their second player development contract spot.
Hall, a second-round pick (No. 20 overall) by the Fever in the 2025 WNBA Draft, was waived after last year's training camp. The South Carolina alumna then signed multiple hardship contracts with the Golden State Valkyries midway through the 2025 season. The Fever eventually brought Hall back on a hardship contract on Sept. 4, following Chloe Bibby's season-ending injury.
Hall's four appearances in regular-season games came on hardship contracts. She played three games with the Golden State Valkyries and one with the Fever in the regular season last year. Hall then had four appearances with Indiana in the playoffs.
Player development contracts are a new addition to the 2026 campaign under the new collective bargaining agreement and are designated for players with 0-3 years of WNBA service, with each franchise permitted to use up to two per season.
Hall joins Justine Pissott as the second Indiana player development contract. Under their player development contracts, Hall and Pissott are able to participate in all team activities, including practice and travel, and can be activated for a maximum of 12 games each. Each WNBA team can utilize a max of 24 games from development players.
Per Richard Cohen of Her Hoop Stats, development players will earn a stipend of $750 weekly. Development players would receive a pro-rated minimum salary of just more than $6,000 per game if activated. Development players can be converted to a standard roster contract at any time.
