Entering 2026, two things were true for Indiana football: The Hoosiers had never won a national championship nor seen a 5-star prospect commit to join the program. Now, with January’s win in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game and a recent prediction from On3/Rivals vice president Steve Wiltfong, both could change this year.
Wiltfong has logged a prediction for Indiana to land a commitment from Monshun Sales, a wide receiver out of Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, per Rivals’ social media.
Sales is rated as a 5-star by On3/Rivals, ranking in as the highest-rated wide receiver and the 7th highest-rated prospect overall in the high school recruiting class of 2027 according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He’s also rated as a 5-star by 247Sports. Should he commit to Indiana, Sales would be the highest-rated prospect to do so in program history.
Indiana has been competing against the likes of Alabama, Ohio State and Miami in the race to land Sales, teams it beat in its run to the national championship this past season. Landing Sales would arguably be the biggest high school recruiting news in program history.
