Where Alabama undrafted 2026 NFL draft prospects signed as free agents
Where did Alabama's undrafted players sign after the 2026 NFL Draft?
The Los Angeles Rams secured five new players in the 2026 draft, raising questions about their choices. Despite some concerns, the draft class shows potential value for the team's future.
After three days and a lot of questions surrounding their choices, the Los Angeles Rams have walked away with five new players and an opportunity to continue to supplement their roster with the undrafted and veteran free agent market.
It's odd. I feel conflicted. Despite my feelings on the Ty Simpson pick, I like the class. I don't even dislike the Simpson pick the more I think about it, but the Rams' approach was off. Looking at the rest of the draft, the Rams got great value and while a pressing need wasn't addressed, looming issues were.
Max Klare is a perfect succession plan for helping Terrance Ferguson replace Colby Parkinson, Tyler Higbee, and Davis Allen. Keagon Trost is an instant replacement for Warren McClendon Jr. as the backup swing tackle, while his skill set adds depth to the interior offensive line. C.J. Daniels has all the traits to be a successful wide receiver in the Sean McVay offense, and Tim Keenan III adds another body to the most physical part of the field.
It's a solid draft that is overshadowed by Simpson's selection. The Rams, unless they start to suck all of a sudden, will likely never be in the position that they were again. They benefited from the desperate actions of a dying regime in Atlanta by swiping their first-round pick in a trade last year, instead opting for a promise of tomorrow, whose effect might not come until four years down the road.
When there are reports that teams were trying to trade up with the Rams, teams without a need for a quarterback, it feels like a waste. However, Les Snead and McVay are in the positions they occupy for a reason. With that being said, if they fail to win a Super Bowl with , people will point to this moment as the reason why. It will be a stain on their legacies.
The Rams drafted five new players, including Ty Simpson, Max Klare, Keagon Trost, C.J. Daniels, and Tim Keenan III.
Ty Simpson's selection has raised some concerns, but he is seen as part of a broader strategy that includes addressing future needs.
The Rams focused on adding depth to the offensive line, wide receiver, and tight end positions with their draft picks.
The Rams capitalized on a trade with the Falcons, acquiring their first-round pick, which allowed them to enhance their draft strategy.

If they win, no one cares. Winning solves everything. If they win now and win again with Simpson, we will speak of Snead and McVay with the same reverence as John McVay and Bill Walsh. The golden dynasty that McVay's grandfather built became timeless as they replaced Joe Montana with Steve Young at the crucial moment.
Considering Walsh's retirement, Young kept the offense humming for George Seifert to add two more rings to John McVay's fingers. Considering what Montana did in Kansas City, maybe the 49ers could've won more rings with him than with Young – but who cares? Because they won.
I'm not a fan of this gamble but I'm a fan of gambles in general, and it pays to take a swing. If they believe Simpson is that guy, then fans have to trust their vision. Simpson seems like a player built to lead. He masked a lot of issues for Alabama. Maybe he is the answer.
But to think of the impact Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith had for the Eagles, and what Trent McDuffie and George Karlaftis did for Kansas City, there are recent examples of contenders with MVP-caliber quarterbacks using two first-round picks to supplement their roster, leading to titles. It makes you wonder if the Rams took the right approach.
Even the Seahawks' title is built on their selections of Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Devon Witherspoon. The Rams got their Witherspoon in McDuffie, but did they just rob Stafford of his Smith-Njigba? The Seahawks had both DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett on their roster when they added Smith-Njigba.
Who is the current NFL offensive player of the year? Exactly.
The Bengals had Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd before adding Ja'Marr Chase. They made a Super Bowl. I mean, the Vikings had Cris Carter and Jeff Reed on their roster before adding Randy Moss. Does anyone see that as a bad move?
Makai Lemon was right there. Omar Cooper Jr. and KC Concepcion were in striking distance. To not get one of them, to let Lemon join the Eagles, just feels like a swing and a miss to me. Fortunately, the rest of the draft does enough that if the Rams play at their best, they will be one of the most difficult teams to beat in football. You just have to wonder if they did enough to defeat the Seahawks and Eagles in crunch time.
