NEW DELHI: Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued their stellar run in IPL 2026, beating Delhi Capitals by nine wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Monday. The dominant win was RCB's sixth of the season in eight games, taking their tally in the IPL points table to 12. They consolidated their second spot in the standings and closed in on league leaders Punjab Kings, who are at the top with 13 points from seven games.
It was a memorable outing for RCB as they bundled out hosts DC for just 75 in 16.3 overs before chasing the target in only 6.3 overs, with Virat Kohli finishing the game in style with back-to-back sixes off T Natarajan.

The big win also improved RCB's NRR, which might come in handy as the race for the playoffs intensifies in IPL 2026. RCB now boast an NRR of +1.919 — the best this season — slightly ahead of leaders PBKS, who have an NRR of +1.333.
With the crushing defeat at home, DC remained stranded in seventh place with six points from eight games, suffering their fifth loss of the season. The margin of defeat also dented their NRR, which now stands at a poor -1.060, only marginally better than bottom-placed Lucknow Super Giants’ -1.106.
The two points also moved RCB ahead of third-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad and fourth-placed Rajasthan Royals, all of whom had 10 points before the match on Monday.
Beyond the four playoff spots, the rest of the standings remain unchanged, with Gujarat Titans (8 points) in fifth, followed by Chennai Super Kings (6 points), DC, Kolkata Knight Riders (5 points), Mumbai Indians (4 points), and LSG (4 points).
Royal Challengers Bengaluru is in second place with 12 points from eight matches.
RCB won by nine wickets, dismissing DC for just 75 runs and chasing the target in 6.3 overs.
RCB's net run rate is +1.919, the best in the season so far.
