NEW DELHI: Royal Challengers Bengaluru climbed to the top of the IPL 2026 points table after edging past Mumbai Indians in a thrilling last-over contest at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. The two-wicket win not only boosted RCB’s playoff hopes but also strengthened their position in a tightly contested top-four race.
With the victory, RCB now have 14 points from 11 matches, having registered seven wins and four defeats so far this season. More importantly, their impressive net run rate of +1.103 is currently the best among all teams, helping them move above Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans despite all three sides being tied on 14 points.
For Mumbai Indians, the defeat officially ended their playoff hopes.
MI are ninth with just three wins and eight losses from 11 matches, managing only six points with a net run rate of -0.585.
Sunrisers Hyderabad are second on the table with the same record of seven wins and four losses from 11 matches, but their net run rate of +0.737 is lower than RCB’s.
Gujarat Titans are third with 14 points as well, though their net run rate stands at +0.228.
Punjab Kings remain firmly in the playoff race at fourth place with 13 points from 10 matches. PBKS have won six games, lost three and had one no-result, while maintaining a healthy net run rate of +0.571.
Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals are placed fifth and sixth respectively, both with 12 points from 11 games. CSK have a net run rate of +0.185, while RR are just behind with +0.082.
Kolkata Knight Riders remain seventh with nine points from 10 matches after four wins, five defeats and one no-result.
Delhi Capitals are eighth with eight points from 11 matches and a poor net run rate of -1.154.
Lucknow Super Giants are also eliminated and sit bottom of the table with six points and a net run rate of -0.907.
