Ipswich Town made the perfect start at Portman Road and quickly took control of their Championship fixture with QPR. George Hirst opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, giving the hosts the ideal platform in front of their home crowd.
The lead was doubled shortly afterwards, with Hirst turning provider in the 9th minute before Jaden Philogene finished the move to make it 2-0. From there, Ipswich stayed in command and carried a clear advantage into the closing stages.
QPR were unable to find a way back into the game despite having slightly less of the ball, while Ipswich produced the more dangerous attacking numbers. The hosts ended the match with 13 shots, seven on target and an expected goals figure of 2.54, compared with QPR's 12 attempts, four on target and 0.68 expected goals.
Kasey McAteer added a third goal in the 85th minute to complete the scoring and confirm a convincing 3-0 victory for Ipswich Town in Championship 25/26, fixture 46.
