Caitlin Clark is set to play in the Indiana Fever's exhibition game against Nigeria despite a recent injury scare. She reported feeling fine after a hard foul during a previous game.
After an injury scare in the third quarter of Indiana's April 30 WNBA preseason game that saw Caitlin Clark laboring after a hard foul on a 3-point attempt, the Fever have officially made their ruling on whether the former Hawkeye will play during the team's exhibition matchup tonight against the Nigerian National Team.
When asked in her postgame media availability about the incident, Clark said she felt fine after the collision. Clark also praised the officials for their handling of the situation.
"I feel good. I just landed on my kneecap really hard," Clark said. "I know there's a committee of people that really wanted them (the refs) to start calling things, and I thought they did a great job of that. Honestly, I thought the refs were great, and it's preseason, so you're probably going to see more fouls called. I expect that number to drop. But I think overall, it's going to improve the product."

Fever head coach Stephanie White said the organization had planned to sub Clark out early in the third quarter anyways.
"We had planned for her to come out about that time anyway," Fever coach Stephanie White commented. "It was just an extra precaution getting her out in that moment, but the plan was for her to start the third quarter and then get her out quickly.
As for Clark's status for tonight's game, she does not appear on the Fever's injury report and should be expected to receive her originally-intended minutes.
Additionally, only two Fever players are listed on the injury report: guards Lexie Hull (hamstring) and Justine Pissott (lower leg).
This means that forward Aliyah Boston and guard Ty Harris will be in the lineup after both missed the previous two preseason games.
Clark and the Fever tip off their final 2026 WNBA preseason game tonight against the Nigerian National Team from Gainbridge Fieldhouse at 6 p.m. CT.
