Chelsea came off at half time against Nottingham Forest 2-0 down and in real trouble. The half time coverage on Sky saw pundit Jamie Carragher lay into Malo Gusto and his teammates for the defending that allowed his team to concede two such soft goals.
Carragher has been very critical (quite justifiably) of the BlueCo project, and it almost feels like he’s run out of steam here. He could have been so much more vicious, but instead, like most of us, he’s pretty much just accepting how shocking we are as standard now.
“This goal sums up Chelsea,” Carragher said of the second goal, where Gusto pulled the shirt of Taiwo Awoniyi rather than try to get back and match his rub,
“It’s sloppy, lazy, it’s a lack of discipline – and that’s not just today but across the season with the red cards they’ve had.
“You think of the team they’ve got on the pitch here compared to Nottingham Forest, they shouldn’t be 2-0 down.”
Well he’s been proved right – Chelsea are now 3-0 down.
