After nine seasons with the Boston Celtics, Jayson Tatum is laying the foundation for a Hall of Fame career. A six-time All-Star wth four All-NBA First Team selections and a championship ring under his belt, Tatum has already achieved more than most NBA players do in their entire careers.
Tatum's only 28, though, so he's far from finished. There's still plenty more he wants to accomplish before he hangs it up, whenever that may be.
During his recent interview with Craig Melvin on the "Glass Half Full" podcast, Tatum revealed what he's still chasing.
"I would say winning another championship and holding a Finals MVP," Tatum said. When asked if he could do that in Boston, Tatum replied, "Absolutely. Especially after what I've been through, it would mean that much more."
Tatum already has a ring, but he still wants at least one more. He'd also like to win an NBA Finals MVP, which went to Jaylen Brown during the Celtics' 2024 title run.
Those are good goals, especially for a player like Tatum. It's encouraging for Boston fans that they both involve winning a championship rather than an individual award or record.
Time will tell if Tatum is able to achieve those goals, but time is one thing he has on his side right now.
