Joe Rogan has been a long-time supporter of striking sports, often pushing for them to get more attention.
While he hasnât held back his criticism of Power Slap, Rogan has remained a loyal fan of the UFC, where heâs been a staple in the commentary team for years.
Roganâs seat at the commentary desk has given him a unique perspective on the sport. Over time, heâs come up with a few ideas on how things could be improved.
However, Dana White hasnât shown much interest in backing Muay Thai or kickboxing, something Rogan thinks the PFL could use to its advantage.

During episode #178 of the JRE MMA Show, Joe Rogan sat down with PFL commentator Dan Hardy to discuss how the promotion could carve out a more unique identity in the combat sports landscape.
The comedian and podcaster has long expressed his love for Muay Thai, especially when fought in smaller gloves, and heâs been open about his attempts to get the UFC to create a similar league focused solely on striking.
With Hardy mentioning various rule changes within the PFL since he joined, Rogan pointed out an area where the UFC has yet to capitalise and suggested that the PFL could fill that gap.
âMaybe you guys should start a fââ Muay Thai, small gloves. Like UFC is fââ up with that. Iâve sent Dana [White] all these different fights⊠Iâm like, âLook at this. This is what people want to see.â Everybody boos when fights go to the ground if it gets boring. This sââs never boring. Maybe you guys should pick up the slack⊠That might be the move man. That might be what differentiates.â
Rogan once again brought up Asadula Imangazaliev, who has quickly made a name for himself within ONE Championshipâs ranks.
ONEâs decision to use four-ounce gloves for its Muay Thai bouts has led to a surge in action-packed fights and knockouts, something Rogan noted had shifted fan interest away from their MMA divisions toward striking-focused events.
Hardy mentioned that while heâs pitched numerous ideas over recent years, even straightforward changes like introducing elbows have met with considerable resistance from within the organisation.
