Ahead of the game against Manchester City, he said of Timber, Martin Odegaard and Riccardo Calafiori: âWe will try again. Some players are quite close, but the turnaround is short, so we will try tomorrow to push everybody, and if they are in good condition, they will be part of us, and if not, they wonât. They havenât been in the last few weeks, unfortunately.â
Only Odegaard was fit enough to be involved from that trio in the end, but the picture now appears more encouraging for Timber.
He and Calafiori are both seemingly closing in on returns, even if they remain doubts for the visit of Newcastle.
Like Bukayo Saka, Timber is not yet certain to be available, but Arsenal appear to have one eye on getting their remaining injured players [Mikel Merino excluded as his season seems to be over] back in time for the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Atletico Madrid on 29 April.
