Juventus will not receive nearly âŹ60M from the potential buyouts of Douglas Luiz and Nico Gonzalez, as both players will remain with their current clubs for now. The club must seek alternative solutions for cash influxes in the summer.
Juventus Miss Out on Two Big Cash Influxes for Now
Douglas Luiz and Nico Gonzalez seemed on track to be bought out by Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid at some point, but that wonât be the case, and Juventus will have to find a solution again in the summer, Tuttomercatoweb reports.
The Bianconeri had hoped to cash in nearly âŹ60M from the duo, but it wonât happen, at least automatically. The Brazilian midfielder headed back to Birmingham after failing to leave his mark at Nottingham Forest. However, heâs not a regular starter. His âŹ25M option to buy wonât be picked up.
Gonzalez has had a better season than Douglas Luiz, but the conditions to trigger a âŹ32M permanent exit from Juventus havenât been met. He missed a few matches due to injury in the second half of the season and is currently on the mend. He has tallied 5 goals in 37 matches with Los Colchoneros.
The two could still stay where they are, but only after the terms are renegotiated. Per , Atletico Madrid are willing to pay around âŹ20M for the Argentine. Instead, itâll be tougher to offload the midfielder. He has a residual âŹ30M financial value and makes âŹ5M per year.
Juventus will not receive the funds because the buyout options for both players were not triggered, with Luiz returning to Aston Villa and Gonzalez not meeting the conditions for a permanent transfer.
Douglas Luiz has returned to Aston Villa after a loan spell at Nottingham Forest, while Nico Gonzalez is recovering from injury and has not met the conditions for a permanent transfer from Atletico Madrid.
The failure to secure these buyouts means Juventus will need to explore other financial solutions to bolster their budget in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The latter didnât perform at his Fiorentina levels and is a bit injury-prone, but he wasnât awful in Turin. They might as well keep him if they donât find a good deal. Theyâll need another winger, as Edon Zhegrova has given them very little. They could use some depth in the midfield too, but itâll take quite a lot of work to make the former a real asset.
