Lewandowski’s contract at Barcelona expires on June 30, making him a free agent, though the club retain a renewal clause in the agreement. Barcelona have so far respected an informal understanding that they would negotiate with the player before activating it rather than impose the option unilaterally.
The Poland international and his family are understood to want to gather all available proposals, including any renewed offer from Barcelona, as well as approaches from Chicago Fire and clubs in the Middle East, before making what is described as a life decision as much as a footballing one.
A resolution is not expected until after Barcelona have officially wrapped up their Liga title challenge.
