Well, the Royals lost another low scoring game last night, where have you heard that before? Jaylon Thompson of the Kansas City Star talked about it.
The Royals rode their starting rotation once again. This time, Seth Lugo carried the load and recorded a no-decision in the Royals’ 2-1 loss.
“You know, starting pitchers just try to pitch as deep as we can,” Lugo said. “Whatever the scoreboard says is irrelevant to attacking each hitter. As long as we keep that mentality, we’re going to keep giving the team a chance to win.”
However, familiar problems keep popping up. The Royals continued to struggle with runners in scoring position — arguably the team’s biggest issue this season. And it proved costly Wednesday night.
Isaac Collins left the game on Tuesday in the bottom of the first inning with a knee injury, he is day-to-day.
An X-ray was negative, Quatraro said. Collins, who was out of the starting lineup on Wednesday, is listed as day to day.
“I feel pretty good,” Collins said before Wednesday’s game against the Tigers. “Just trying to get the swelling out, and get that range of motion back. It feels much better than I thought it would today.”
Will the Royals offense eventually turn it around? David Lesky discusses both options.
