KC Mavericks share venue plan for potential Western Conference Finals
KANSAS CITY, Mo. â The Kansas City Mavericks shared plans for the potential Western Conference Finals of their playoff run this season amid scheduling conflicts.
According to the team, if the Mavericks advance to round three, games will be played on the main ice at Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence on May 22 and 23.
Previously scheduled events at the arena will still impact the second round, if necessary. Those games will be played on May 19 and 20, should the series advance that far, on the Community Ice Rink in Cable Dahmer Area due to graduation ceremonies taking place at the arena. The games on the Community Ice Rink will not be open to the public, the team shared.
âThis was important to get right,â said James Arkell, COO of the Kansas City Mavericks. âOur fans have been incredible all season, and making sure we could continue playing in front of them at Cable Dahmer Arena was a priority. We appreciate the City and Oak View Group for working with us to find a solution.â
The Mavericks are currently in the midst of a historic season, one in which they recorded the best overall record in the ECHL. That record earned the club the Brabham Cup as regular-season champions.
The Mavericks also just recently signed an extension to keep them at Cable Dahmer Arena for the next three seasons.
âWe understand how much Mavericks hockey means to our community, especially during such a season like this,â said Assistant City Manager Charlie Dissell. âThere were some real scheduling conflicts to work through, but this is what collaboration looks like. Weâre excited to welcome fans back for the next round as the Mavericks advance.â
