His performances have not gone unnoticed either, a with host of clubs interested in his services including his former club, Barcelona.
But it is Real Madrid who hold significant sway over Munozâs future and it was explained by none other than Osasuna sporting director Braulio VĂĄzquez recently.
In a recent interaction, Vazquez was emphatic about Osasunaâs stance when it comes to any potential transfer, confirming that the club have already rejected a verbal offer from Sunderland in the region of âŹ25 million.
âWe wonât even listen; weâre sticking to the clause,â he said (h/t MARCA), reaffirming that Osasuna will not entertain any offer below Munozâs âŹ40 million release clause.
The buyback clause allows his former club, Real Madrid, to reacquire Victor Munoz under specific conditions.

However, Vazquez was equally candid about the limits of Osasunaâs control over the situation, pointing directly to Real Madrid as the decisive party in any future transfer discussion.
âReal Madrid have a three-year buyback clause that has already been agreed upon. What weâre doing is enjoying Victor until the end of the season. Football is very unpredictable,â he said.
While Osasuna acquired 50% of Munozâs rights last summer, Real Madrid retain a buyback option they can exercise as early as this summer window, in addition to a right of first refusal and a 50% share of any future transfer fee.
Should Los Blancos choose to act, there is very little anyone else can do. The club, in fact, are reportedly ready to block Munozâs potential move to Barcelona and bring him back to the Bernabeu.
