The Los Angeles Rams aren't playing the Lions in the upcoming NFL season, but the team's schedule release video is set to a Detroit favorite.

The video is an homage to the opening credits of "Napoleon Dynamite," the 2004 comedy hit about an outsider high school student in the middle of nowhere, Idaho. The movie's opening sequence also utilized the White Stripes song, which hails from the band's 2001 album "White Blood Cells."
The "Napoleon Dynamite" homage continues through the end of the Rams video, with the Rams' mascot, Rampage, playing tetherball alone, which is similar to how "Napoleon Dynamite" closes.

What do the White Stripes or "Napoleon Dynamite" have to do with the Rams? Not much. But schedule release videos have become a creative form of expression in recent years, short films unto themselves, maximized for virality.
