The Charlotte Hornets have a chance to get a spot in the Playoffs if they win their next game against either the Philadelphia 76ers or the Orlando Magic. This is thanks to their gutsy victory against the Miami Heat on Tuesday.
It was one of the most competitive games of the season, but it might have been entirely different if Bam Adebayo had played the entire game. Unfortunately, LaMelo Ball's grab led to him falling on his tailbone early in the second quarter.
While it was perfectly normal for the Hornets to celebrate their big win on Tuesday, it was a bittersweet victory. LaMelo was superb in the game, especially with his game-winning layup.
However, his performance was spoiled by the incident when he grabbed Adebayo's leg. He got away without being penalized, which baffled a lot of people, including Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra.

Ball himself knew he had made a mistake, which he addressed after the game. That soured the result a bit because the story will be about his grab rather than the win. He made sure to publicly apologize, and he plans on doing it privately as well.
"I apologize for that one. I got hit in the head, didn't know where I was, but I'm gonna check on him and see if he's okay and everything," Ball said after the game about the leg grab.
Moving forward, the Hornets will probably not care about the result. It is harsh for Adebayo and the Heat because they missed out on the win by only one point, and Adebayo was not present for most of the game.
