Chelsea have set a deadline when they hope to have a new manager appointed, according to reports today.

Chelsea are aiming to have their new manager in place by mid-January, a report from Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol today has claimed.
This date would rule out any of the candidates potentially currently managing international teams at the World Cup. However none of the current favourites for the job found themselves in that category anyway.
Itâs very well saying that this is what theyâre aiming for â the reality is always pretty different.
Solhekol says that Chelsea have narrowed their list down to âa shortlist of five or six names.â
That includes Xabi Alonso, Marco Silva and Andoni Iraola, the current three favourites for the job.
We see no reason that one of them couldnât be appointed significantly before mid-June, given they are all out of contract or soon to be. If if does end up being one of them, a deal could be done potentially not long after the season ends.
Moises Caicedo will be a key player when we face Man City on Saturday â and he did appear to be getting back to his best in last weekâs game.
