USC receiver Makai Lemon is projected to slide to pick 30 in the 2026 NFL draft, according to a recent mock draft. This marks his lowest projection yet, with the Miami Dolphins potentially selecting him to bolster their receiving corps.
USC receiver Makai Lemon has either dropped or skyrocketed in mock drafts week after week. Every day, there is a new expert who is either extremely high or low on Makai Lemon. The only constant belief is that Lemon will be picked in the first round of the 2026 NFL draft. In a recent mock, Makai Lemon is projected at his lowest spot on the board. No one has had a lower projection than this one from Nate Tice and Charles McDonald of Yahoo! Sports. They released one last mock draft before then. Both experts have Lemon falling all the way to pick 30 and ending up in Miami:
"The Dolphins use the pick they got from theĀ Jaylen WaddleĀ trade to replace Jaylen Waddle. Lemon isnāt nearly as dynamic as Waddle, but he profiles as a starting-caliber slot wide receiver. The Dolphins need to start rebuilding their wide receiver depth somewhere, so they might as well start here and see where the winds take them and their $179 million in dead cap."
Makai Lemon is as talented as it gets at the receiver position, whether or not a draft slide occurs. The Dolphins need all of the possible weapons that they can get for new potential franchise quarterback Malik Willis. Makai Lemon would be the best receiver in the Dolphins receiver room and Malik Willis' number 1 option on day 1.
The Dolphins upgrading both their defensive back room and receiver room by adding 2 top 15 prospects in this class would cement them as one of the biggest winners of the draft. Makai Lemon sliding would not be ideal for him, but landing with the Dolphins and being the guy would not be the worst-case scenario for him.

The Miami Dolphins are projected to select Makai Lemon with the 30th pick, using a pick acquired from the Jaylen Waddle trade.
Makai Lemon would likely become a starting-caliber slot receiver for the Dolphins, providing a key option for new quarterback Malik Willis.
