According to NBC Sports Bostonās Phil Perry, Vrabel returned to the office for the Patriots on Monday after missing Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft to seek counseling in response to his brewing controversy with Dianna Russini, a former reporter for The Athletic.
Photos showing Vrabel and Russini, who are both married, emerged from a luxury resort in Arizona, where the two were apparently seen holding hands and embracing. Executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf and vice president of player personnel Ryan Cowden led the draft room in Vrabel's absence.
Vrabel was on hand for the Patriots on Day 1 and Day 2 of the draft, but he decided to seek counseling and be with his family instead of being present with the team on Day 3.
Vrabel returns to the office with New England having made all of their selections in the draft, as well as several undrafted free agent signings following the conclusion of the event.
