Leeds United will hold another round of talks with the representatives of Ethan Ampadu before the end of this week, according to The Athletic. Leeds have secured Premier League safety and Whites manager Daniel Farke is preparing for a big summer at the Elland Road club. The west Yorkshire club will look to make quality additions to their squad ahead of next season and also hand some of their key players new deals. Ampadu current contract expires at the end of next season but Leeds have the option to extend it by another year to June 2028.
Talks have been going on between the 25-year-old’s camp and the Whites, and they are now expected to advance in the coming days. Leeds want to hand their captain a new deal after the key role he played in ensuring they stay up this term. Ampadu played 33 league games and made five FA Cup appearances and has established himself as one of their most important players. He has played more minutes than any other Leeds player in the Premier League this term, and it only makes sense to reward him with a new and improve contract.
The Wales international has proven himself in the English top-flight and some of the bigwigs will be monitoring his situation.
