The Denver Broncos didn't just add to their already talented roster through the NFL draft this past weekend; they were able to snag one of the top undrafted free agents immediately after the draft in Texas A&M linebacker Taurean York.
York (5-10, 226 pounds) was a team captain for the Aggies in 2024 and 2025, a strong leader on the field. In his freshman season in 2023, York was named a freshman All-American and named to the SEC's All-Freshman team. In three years of playing time, York racked up 229 total tackles (106 solo, 123 assisted), with 25.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, one interception and one forced fumble.
NFL.com's Lance Zeirlien projected York as a sixth or seventh-round pick, comparing him to the Minnesota Vikings linebacker Ivan Pace.
York and his family had an unforgettable reaction to him getting the call that he was going to be a Bronco.
Although York did not hear his name called at the podium in Pittsburgh, he may fit well into the scheme of defensive coordinator Vance Joseph. As one of the Broncos' draft picks, Jonah Coleman recently noted, "It's not about when you get drafted, what round; it's about what place you go, where you fit."
"It's unbelievable how it all shook out," said York of his draft day experience in an interview with Our Esquina. "God has a greater plan for me, so I don't really question it. I'm just eager, I'm really eager to go out there and do it again."
