STONEBORO — The Cambridge Springs baseball team beat Lakeview 10-1 in a Region 3 game Wednesday.
Brett Kania had three runs scored and an RBI to lead the Blue Devils. Quinn Simmerman had seven strikeouts on the mound.
Cambridge Springs (3-4 overall, 3-1 region) hosts Conneaut on Friday at 4 p.m. in a non-region game.
Hailey Obenrader helps Saegertown to win
SAEGERTOWN — The Saegertown softball team won 11-0 in six innings over Meadville in a non-region game Wednesday.
Hailey Obenrader allowed one hit and had 14 strikeouts on the mound to lead the Panthers. At the plate she had two triples and three RBIs. Myla Miller added a home run, a double and three RBIs.
Lila Kightlinger had six strikeouts for Meadville.
Saegertown (4-0) travels to Lakeview today at 4:15 p.m. for a Region 2 game.
Meadville (4-3) travels to Harbor Creek today at 4 p.m. for a Region 6 match.
Oilers get seventh inning run to win
OIL CITY — The Oil City baseball team scored the game’s only run in the seventh inning of Wednesday’s 1-0 Region 2 win over Titusville.
Brady Fulmer scored the lone run and Casey Rybak added a double. On the mound Zach Love struck out 10.
For the Rockets, Blake Schmidt had five strikeouts.
Oil City (3-5 overall, 1-4 region) hosts North Clarion on Friday at 4 p.m. for a non-region game.
Titusville (4-5, 2-3) hosts Slippery Rock on Monday in a Region 2 game.
Orioles need three innings
JAMESTOWN — The Rocky Grove baseball team won 15-0 in three innings over Jamestown in a Region 3 game Wednesday.
Issac Grigsby had a double and an RBI for the Orioles, while Haydon Bevier had two RBIs. Landon Jones had six strikeouts.
The Orioles (3-3 overall, 3-2 region) host DuBois Central Catholic on Friday at 4 p.m. for a non-region game.
Franklin falls to Grove City
GROVE CITY — The Franklin baseball team fell 6-3 to Grove City in a Region 2 game Wednesday.
Nolan Parry had a run off two hits.
Franklin (7-4 overall, 0-4 region) hosts Hickory on Friday at 4 p.m. for a region contest.
