Schlarman Academy baseball team overcame a 10-3 deficit to defeat Hoopeston Area 12-11, scoring six runs in the fifth inning. Jerrius Atkinson led Schlarman with two home runs and three RBIs.
TILTON — The Schlarman Academy baseball team has already been involved in some wild games this season and Friday was no exception.
The Hilltoppers were down 10-3 after the second inning against Hoopeston Area, but battled back and with six runs in the fifth, rebounded to get a 12-11 win.
Jerrius Atkinson had two home runs and three RBIs for Schlarman, while Will Fowler had three hits and two RBIs, Wyatt Wallen had two RBIs, Ivan Rodriguez had two hits and one RBI, Miles Croxby, Nolan Dixon and Jack Barber each had one RBI and Liam Billings had two hits.
Fletcher Swartz had four RBIs for Hoopeston Area, while Cole Miller, Isaiah Mobley and Zach Huchel each had two hits and two RBIs and Felix Cantu had two hits. The Cornjerkers had won their last two games, including a 7-6 win over Cissna Park on Thursday where Owen Field had two hits and two RBIs for the Cornjerkers, while Huchel, Brayden Cornelius, Haydin Mills and Swartz each had one RBI and Dallas Sheppard had two hits.
Peoria Notre Dame 5, Danville 0
PEORIA — Liam Enyeart and Blake Warfield each had a hit, but the Vikings lost to the Irish in Big 12 Conference play.
The Vikings are 6-14 and will travel to Normal West on Wednesday.
Westville 8, Salt Fork 0
CATLIN — Ben Johnson and Braxton Barrett combined for six strikeouts and a one-hitter as the Tigers shut out the Storm.
Johnson also had three RBIs for Westville, while Alec Davis had two hits and an RBI and Ean Jones, Kiptyn Appl and Owen Atwood each had one RBI.
Pedro Rangel V had the lone hit for Salt Fork, who are 9-7 and will face Georgetown-Ridge Farm on Monday.
The Tigers are 13-11 and will host Casey-Westfield and Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley in a round-robin today.
BHRA 8, Milford 2
BISMARCK — Cruz Dubois had a home run and three RBIs as the Blue Devils beat the Bearcats.
Jaxon Spicer had two hits and an RBI for Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, while Landen Packard, Mason Clapp and Mason Brines each had one RBi and Drew Dubois had two hits.
Spicer had six strikeouts on the mound to get the win for the Blue Devils, who are 11-7 and will face Paris today.
Cissna Park 10, Oakwood 5
OAKWOOD — The Comets could not keep up on offense on Friday in a loss to the Timberwolves.
Weston Frazier had three RBIs for Oakwood, while Grady Johnson had three hits and an RBI and Gauge Carillo had an RBI.
The Comets are 7-10 and will travel to Armstrong-Potomac on Monday.
A-P 4, Iroquois West 0
GILMAN — Traxton Roberts and Ryan Edwards combined for a one-hitter and 17 strikeouts as the Trojans shut out the Raiders.
Roberts had two hits with a solo home run for Armstrong-Potomac, while Rhys Showalter had two RBIs and Kolten Morgan had an RBI.
Schlarman rallied from a 10-3 deficit, scoring six runs in the fifth inning to secure a 12-11 victory.
Jerrius Atkinson hit two home runs and had three RBIs, while Will Fowler contributed three hits and two RBIs.
The final score was Schlarman 12, Hoopeston Area 11.
Peoria Notre Dame defeated Danville 5-0, and Hoopeston Area had previously won against Cissna Park 7-6.

COVINGTON, Ind. — Kyler Zarn had a walk-off single in the eighth as the Covington baseball team beat Fountain Central 3-2 on Thursday.
Zarn had two RBIs for the Trojans, while Davyn Green had two hits and Creux Rieman had 13 strikeouts in seven innings.
Ayden Batchelor had two hits and an RBI for the Mustangs, while Wyatt Clark had an RBI.
The Trojans are 8-4 and will take on West Vigo today.
North Vermillion 15, Dugger Union 0
CAYUGA, Ind. — The North Vermillion baseball team broke a 3-game losing streak with a 15-0 win over Dugger Union on Thursday.
Logan Lewis had three RBIs for the Falcons, while Emmitt Klugow, Riley Jeffers and David Jeffers each had two RBIs and Landen Wilson and Nathan Sutton each had an RBI.
The Falcons are 3-9 and will face Attica in a doubleheader today.
South Vermillion 6, Seeger 4
WEST LEBANON, Ind. — The Seeger baseball team fought back in the seventh inning, but ended up losing 6-4 to South Vermillion on Thursday.
Connor Riegle-Sallee had two hits and one RBI for the Patriots, who scored two runs in the seventh, while Peyton Grimmett and Jarrett Smith each had an RBI.
The Patriots rebounded to beat Southmont 8-7 on Friday as Macyn Hughes had four hits and three RBIs, while Grimmett had two hits and three RBIs, Smith and Hayden Howard each had an RBI and Logan Anderson had two hits.

CHAMPAIGN — Deana Linares had 10 strikeouts on the mound and had three of the Lady Vikings' 20 hits as Danville broke a two-game losing streak.
Payton Beith had two hits and three RBIs for Danville, while Olivia Scaggs had three hits and two RBIs, Kealee Alyea had three hits and an BRI, Gabby Crider and Bri'na Perez each had one RBI and Ava Foster and Gracie Briggs each also had three hits.
The Lady Vikings were coming off a 12-3 loss to Normal Community on Thursday where Foster and Beith each had an RBI and Alyea had two hits.

CATLIN — Down 3-2 after the first inning, the Tigers took the lead for good with five runs in the fifth to get the win over the Storm.
Taylor Valangeon and Layla Atwood each had a home run and three RBIs for Westville, while Payton Sabalaskey had two hits.
Morgan Russell had three hits and two RBIs for the Storm , while Karli McGee had two RBIs, Brilynn Barnett had two hits and an RBI and Ava Ringstrom had two hits.
The Tigers are 16-3 and will host Armstrong-Potomac and Seeger today in a round-robin. The Storm are 11-10 and will play Georgetown-Ridge Farm on Monday.

BISMARCK — The Bearcats scored in the top of the seventh to break the tie and break the Blue Devils' six-game winning streak.
Mia Ohler hit a home run in her third straight game for Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin (10-16) and had three RBIs, while Ella Acton had a home run and two RBIs and Callie Carpenter had four hits.
The Blue Devils were coming off a 14-4 win over North Vermillion, which had Elli Tittle get three hits and four RBIs, while Ohler had two hits with a home run and three RBIs, Eva Ronto had three RBIs, Acton had an RBI and Gentry Elson had two hits.

GILMAN — The Trojans were held to three hits as they were shut out by the Raiders.
Tinley Parkerson, Ashlyn Ackerman and Kaylyn Hayes each had a hit for Armstrong-Potomac, who drops to 7-16.

WATSEKA — Olivia Pearson had the lone hit as the Buffaloes lost in five innings to the Warriors.

WATSEKA — The Hoopeston Area softball team got only two hits as they lost to Watseka 11-1 in six innings on Thursday.
Adyline Rutledge drove in a run with a hit and Camilia Linder had a hit for the Cornjerkers, who are 1-15 and will face Herscher today.
Covington 13, Fountain Central 1
VEEDERSBURG, Ind. — The Covington softball team scored over 10 runs for the fourth straight game as the Trojans beat Fountain Central 13-1 on Thursday.
Lauren Hardy and Taylor Martin each had three hits with three RBIs with Hardy getting a double and a home run for Covington, while Caydence Peaslee had three hits and two RBIs and Preslee Shaw, Kynlynn Lowry and Ava Shaw each had an RBI. Alexus Peaslee gave up only three hits for the win.
Olivia Jones had one RBI for the Mustangs, who are 7-9 and will play Attica on Tuesday.
Covington has won eight of its last nine and will travel to Crawfordsville on Saturday.
Seeger 11, South Vermillion 5
WEST LEBANON, Ind. — The Seeger softball team won their third straight game and eighth out of nine on Thursday with an 11-5 win over South Vermillion.
Lexie Serie had four hits and two RBIs for the Patriots, while Lyra Badger had two hits and two RBIs, Emma Winder had two RBIs, Aubrey Spear, Sydney Stephen and Zoe Thomas each had two hits and one RBI and Layla Cavanaugh had one RBI.
The Patriots are 9-4 and will face Casey-Westfield and Westville today.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Seeger girls tennis team could not get past Lafayette Central Catholic on Thursday, losing 3-2.
Elise Webb in singles and the team of Savannah Bowers and Lilly Peterson each won for the Mustangs, who will host Crawfordsville on Monday.
