Willis is already playing his part well, at least when it comes to showing leadership.
While his attendance at rookie minicamp this weekend wasn't necessary, Willis made sure to show up anyway and talk it up with some of the first-year players.
Willis' physique was also very noticeable, as the veteran signal-caller looks to be in phenomenal shape.
Willis faces a tough road ahead in 2026.
As we mentioned, the Dolphins made two significant subtractions from their wide receivers room with the moves involving Waddle and Hill.
That leaves the cupboard very bare and no doubt stacks the deck against Willis.
Malik Washington will return in 2026, and the Dolphins drafted Chris Bell and Caleb Douglas while also adding Jalen Tolbert and Tutu Atwell in free agency.
But that's hardly an adequate supporting cast. Tolbert and Atwell have been very inconsistent during their respective careers, and Bell and Douglas are total wild cards as rookies.
There are also question marks along the offensive line that will only make Willis job more difficult.
