*ā*Now, granted, I do have two children, and one of them chose not to sleep last night, so itās taking me longer to get back into, I guess, a fiery mode.
*ā*But Iāll never forget here two years ago, I got third at the Masters and I came straight down here, and I was obviously tired, but wasnāt crazy. I remember I was just thinking to myself, do I go to the gym today after I hit balls? I wasnāt like 100 percent certain.

*ā*Then I remember I watched Scottie Scheffler walk by with his gym bag going straight to the gym, so I said, I guess Iām going to the gym today.
*ā*I think when you look at excellence, when a week ends, a new one just begins and you pick right back up. Still, again, a little different now Iāve got both my kids here. Itās a little more chaotic.
āBut I would say by tomorrow Iām sure my energy will be back and Iāll be ready to compete, but that doesnāt mean that ā the last few days we got a lot of good work in the best we could.ā
Max Homa on Scottie Schefflerās incredible ability
The 35-year-old told reporters just how gruelling competing at The Masters is, both physically and mentally.
āIt is crazy how majors just feel like two weeks on you,ā Homa admitted.
*ā*Augusta is one of the few physical tests we have in golf. Itās quite a bear to walk and prep for.
*ā*But that mental toll it takes on you is pretty draining, and it just goes to show how incredible someone like Scottie is that he wins so often and heās in contention so often, yet he does it again the next week.
āSo it is something to truly look up to.ā
Scheffler does have an uncanny ability to reset every week and go again, and itās amazing to think that he hasnāt finished outside the top-25 in any event since August 2024.
That underlines Schefflerās exceptional consistency at the very highest level of the game, and he is clearly the standard-bearer for many of his peers.
