The New York Mets are in the middle of a major rut. They've lost their last seven games, and now sit firmly at the bottom of the NL East at 7-11.
But it's even worse than the record and losing streak indicate. The Mets' offense has completely stagnated. And there's one great, but brutal, statistic that highlights just how bad things are for the Mets.
As Mike Mayer of Metsmerized Online shared on Twitter/x, the Mets offense over the last seven games during this losing streak has scored just 10 runs, which is fewer than three players individually in the same span.
"Welp, this isn't great. Runs over the last 7 games: Byron Buxton, 11. Dansby Swanson, 11. Brice Turang, 10. The Mets, 10," Mayer shared.
The Mets' losing streak, seven in a row, was bad enough. But this statistic only makes things look a whole lot worse.
Somehow, over the last week's worth of games, the Mets have scored fewer runs than two players have in the same time frame individually, while another player scored the same number of runs as the Mets have.
Since Wednesday, April 8th, against the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Mets have put up 2, 1, 0, 6, 0, 0, and 1 runs for a total of 10 in their last seven games.

They've been shut out three times in this stretch, and have dropped from a respectable 7-4 to an NL East worst 7-11.
The Mets desperately need to get the offense going, and will have to do so without Juan Soto as he's recovering from a calf issue.
