TL;DR
The Miami Dolphins may be open to trading key players, including their three 'pillars'āDeāVon Achane, Aaron Brewer, and Jordyn Brooksāas they enter the final year of their contracts. General manager Jon-Eric Sullivan has indicated that no player is untouchable, signaling potential changes ahead during the 2026 NFL Draft.
Casual fans who tuned in to watch Miami Dolphins football last season are in for a special surprise when the 2026 NFL season kicks off this fall. The teamās most notable players have either been cut or traded, including Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Bradley Chubb, and Minkah Fitzpatrick. Heck, even head coach Mike McDaniel has been let go. While the Dolphinsā departures already look like a Pro Bowl roster, more changes could be coming to South Beach.
While first-year Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan previously stated that the team has three āpillars.ā He stated that those players are Pro Bowl running back DeāVon Achane, center Aaron Brewer, and All-Pro linebacker Jordyn Brooks. However, all three of those cornerstones or āpillarsā are entering the final year of their contract.
With how the Dolphins have torn down the roster to the studs, some of those players may not have much interest in re-signing with Miami. Of course, a boatload of money could sway their opinion, but other teams are smelling the blood in the water, and trade activity could ramp up during the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.
While Sullivan previously committed to the three names above sticking with the Dolphins for years to come, when he was again questioned recently, he changed his tune.
Now Sullivan is saying, ānobody is untouchable in this business.ā Dolphins fans learned that the hard way when their biggest stars were let go earlier this offseason. Yet now the Dolphins appear to be putting a for sale sign in their yard for the remaining scraps.
Of course, Sullivan is right that nobody is untouchable in the NFL. But that still doesnāt reveal just how willing the team is to actually deal their remaining top talent. Yet, as weāve seen before, all it takes is an offer too good to refuse to change Miamiās plans.
