Michael Olise believes Bayern "showed good resilience" in their comeback win over Real Madrid
Michael Olise was named Player of the Match in Bayern Munich’s 4–3 Champions League quarter-final win over Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, the Frenchman reflected on a chaotic but ultimately rewarding encounter.
“It was a good, back-and-forth match. We knew they would try to come back. At first it was a bit like ‘goal, goal, goal’. When it eventually calmed down, we played a bit better in the second half and took our chances,” Olise said.
“We showed good resilience to keep coming back. In the end, it was a result we’re happy with.”
After several earlier efforts went narrowly off target, Olise eventually found the net in stoppage time to make it 4-3.
“I tried five or six times before and I was getting closer each time. It was nice to score,” he said.
Olise and Bayern will now face Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals, with the first leg on April 28 and the return leg on May 6.
The final score was Bayern Munich 4, Real Madrid 3.
