Michigan basketball's Big Ten matchups set for 2026-27 season

The Wolverines know what the road to repeating as Big Ten regular-season champions is going to look like.

The Big Ten announced its conference matchups for the 2026-27 campaign on Tuesday, with the opponents and locations for Michigan’s league slate being set.

The Wolverines will have a home-and-home series against Michigan State and Ohio State, which are both protected rivalries. The Buckeyes were added to that list last year when Michigan’s Dusty May and Ohio State’s Jake Diebler agreed to play twice every season.

Michigan’s third and final double-play opponent that it’ll face both at Crisler Center and on the road is Minnesota. The Golden Gophers added former Wolverines Winters Grady and Malick Kordel from the transfer portal this offseason, and Williams Arena is the lone Big Ten venue May hasn’t won at as Michigan’s coach.

Michigan will face Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Northwestern, Oregon, Purdue and Washington at home only. It’ll play road-only games at Indiana, Nebraska, Penn State, Rutgers, UCLA, USC and Wisconsin.

Big Ten game dates are typically announced in September, with tip times and TV designations released after that.

The Wolverines are coming off a historic campaign in which they won the Big Ten regular-season title by four games. They set a Big Ten record with 19 conference wins and became the first Big Ten team since the 1975-76 Indiana Hoosiers to go undefeated on the road in league play before going on to reach the and .
