Trout got the last laugh between the two when he hit a go-ahead home run in the top of the eight inning to give the Angels a two-run lead.

Judge Called Trout the āGOATā
The pair of future Hall of Famers have put together similar MLB careers. Both are two of the best players in MLB history, winning multiple individual accolades. They have both stayed loyal to their teams throughout their entire careers but neither have completed the ultimate feat of winning a World Series title.
Judge got close when he led the Yankees to the 2024 World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. But the Dodgers ultimately defeated the Yankees 4-1 in the series to win their first of two straight championships.
Meanwhile, Trout has only been to the playoffs once in 2014 when the Kansas City Royals swept the Angels in the AL Division Series.
Regardless of Troutās lack of experience playing in the postseason, Judge said Trout is the greatest player of all time.
āHeās the greatest. Heās the greatest of all-time. Heās been fun to watch his whole career,ā Judge said of Trout after the game, per Yankees Videos on X.
The Angels and Yankees have two more games remaining in this series. The second game of the series will be on Tuesday night at 4:05 pm PST.
