The three-time MVP has hit 329 doubles, 55 triples—making him MLB’s active leader—and 412 homers throughout his career.
Anderson, who passed away last week aged 53, played 15 MLB of his 17 seasons with the Halos, making three All-Star Games during his time and winning the 2002 World Series. He hit just 272 homers, but still had 489 doubles and 35 triples with the Angels.

Trout will undoubtedly surpass this record by the end of the season, and could even do so by the end of the week with the way he’s been swinging the bat. Trout has eight homers on the season to go with four doubles, and has also driven in 17 runs through his 25 games. He has a slash line of .241/.416/.563 for a .979 OPS this season, and leads the team in most offensive stats.
With Trout’s performances through the first month of the season, it’s hard to believe he’ll remain tied at the top for too much longer.
