Furlani appeared to smile in the stands while the Rossoneri ultras expressed their dissent in Curva Sud, receiving even more criticism from the supporters.
Furlani, however, explained his reaction with a brief statement released to Gazzetta: “It was just an expression of stress. The tension was extremely high, also considering what was at stake in that match.”
