Milan Player Ratings vs Atalanta – Rossoneri Dealt Another Major Blow
Out-of-form Milan suffered another painful loss as Atalanta secured a stunning 3-2 victory at Stadio San Siro. Sunday’s defeat extended Milan’s winless streak in Serie A to three games, throwing another dent into their faltering top-four quest.
Massimiliano Allegri’s men were hoping to bounce back from last weekend’s 2-0 loss at Sassuolo. However, they found themselves a goal down after only seven minutes, with Ederson putting Atalanta in front with a clinical finish from the edge of the box.
Davide Zappacosta doubled the visitors’ lead midway through the first half, while Giacomo Raspadori made it 3-0 at the start of the second half. Although it looked like Milan would suffer another heavy defeat, late goals from Strahinja Pavlovic and Christopher Nkunku salvaged some pride for the Rossoneri.
Nevertheless, it won’t provide any consolation to the San Siro faithful, with Milan now sitting level on points with fifth-placed Roma. With two games left to play, Allegri’s men are at risk of missing out on Champions League qualification, which would be a major blow for the club.
Without further ado, let’s check our Milan ratings.

Mike Maignan (4/10) – While it’s worth mentioning that his defenders let him down tonight, the French goalkeeper conceded three times from Atalanta’s five shots on target.
Strahinja Pavlovic (7/10) – Fared outstandingly against Charles De Ketelaere, but his effort was in vain. Got Milan off the mark with a trademark header, but it was too little too late for any form of a comeback.
Matteo Gabbia (5/10) – Not one of his most impressive performances this season! The Italian center-back struggled to keep up with Atalanta’s movement in the final third and looked particularly vulnerable whenever the visitors attacked with pace through the middle.
Koni De Winter (5/10) – Given a rare chance to start in the absence of Fikayo Tomori, the former Genoa man failed to live up to expectations. Allegri should’ve taken him off sooner.
Alexis Saelemaekers (4/10) – A disappointing night for the Belgian winger, who couldn’t impact the game in the final third. His defensive shortcomings came to the fore as he was unable to deal with Raspadori.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek (5/10) – Another rusty display from the English midfielder, who struggled to impose himself physically and offered little creativity as Milan laboured to gain control in the middle of the park.
Samuele Ricci (7/10) – Perhaps the only Milan starter alongside Pavlovic to emerge with real credit, as the Italian midfielder tried to dictate the tempo and showed composure on the ball.
Davide Bartesaghi (5/10) – Like Saelemaekers on the opposite side, the academy graduate faltered tonight, struggling defensively while doing nothing noteworthy in attack.
Rafael Leao (3/10) – Despite several valiant attempts to orchestrate something by himself, the Portuguese superstar endured another rough evening in what could prove to be one of his last matches in the Rossoneri colors.
Santiago Gimenez (4/10) – Completely cut off from the rest of the team for most of the game, the Mexican striker never put Marco Carnesecchi to the test, doing very little to trouble Raffaele Palladino’s organized backline.
Christopher Nkunku – 7/10
Youssouf Fofana – 6/10
Niclas Fullkrug – 5/10
Zachary Athekame – 6/10
