An MLB broadcaster had a clever response after she was criticized for using AI.
Angie Mentink, an on-air broadcaster for the Seattle Mariners since 1997, took to X on Thursday, April 16 to address a viral video, first shared a now-deleted post, that shows her typing, "Good questions to ask after a tough loss in baseball" into an AI tool during a game.
Mentink, who suffered a stroke in late February and only returned to the Mariners on March 28, wasted little time before addressing the video.

Mentink returned to the team in March after recovering from the stroke, which left her paralyzed on her left side and required her to relearn how to walk and complete everyday basic tasks, she told the Seattle Times at the time*.*
The broadcaster said the Mariners organization has been "so awesome" during her recovery.
“I was trying to get back for spring training. I was like, ‘I can do this, I can do this, I can do this.’ And they were just like, ‘Stop. Don’t worry about that. Let’s focus on opening day and make that your goal.’ And I was grateful for that.”
“There’s definitely a sense of normalcy being back here," she added.
According to the Times, Mentink became the first woman in club history to serve a regular role as an in-game color analyst.
