The 2026 MLB season is through seven weeks, and we have seen some surprising performances thus far. There is a lot of baseball left, and player statistics and team performances will see a lot of movement. As the league enters week eight, here are the top ten third basemen rankings.

Jung is healthy and is having a resurgent season. Entering the week, he leads MLB third basemen in batting average and on-base percentage. If he continues to produce, he can help Texas compete for the AL West.
In his second season, Caminero is becoming the best power-hitting third baseman. He’s making an early case to start for the AL All-Star team. Last season, Caminero finished second in home runs among MLB third basemen.
Muncy enters the week second in home runs among MLB third basemen. His RBI total isn’t as high as his counterparts, but that will change as the season progresses. Muncy is still one of the best left-handed hitters against right-handed pitchers.

Arenado is having a resurgence in his first season with Arizona. Hitting in the desert has helped the veteran third baseman. He can end the season with his best numbers in the past five years.
Vargas has been on the receiving end of bad luck, as many of his hits have been to fielders. However, his on-base percentage is one of the best among MLB third basemen. His production has aided in Chicago’s early-season success.
Machado is having a slow start, but he’s produced with runners on base. The veteran has been one of the league’s best third basemen throughout his career. It’s only a matter of time before he goes on a tear.
Riley is quietly producing. He’s struggling to keep swings-and-misses in check, but he’s still finding ways to produce. As the season progresses, Riley will see his batting average and OBP increase.
