Men's college basketball buzz: State of blueblood rebuilds
Men's college basketball bluebloods like Kansas and Kentucky face major rebuilds this offseason.
The NFL Draft begins on April 23rd in Pittsburgh, lasting until April 25th. The New York Giants have two top 10 picks and are looking to strengthen their offensive line and other positions.

The NFL Draft is set for this week, beginning on Thursday April 23rd at 8 PM, and running through Saturday, April 25th. The beautiful city of Pittsburgh is hosting this year, and as a local I can tell you people are abuzz with the eventâs arrival (mostly having to do with the jacked up AirBnB prices in the area and road closures, but, yâknow, gotta give people something to talk about I suppose).
Weâve covered the key Penn State players that will hope to hear their names called this weekend, but Iâm curious about you and your team. Who do you hope your team drafts this weekend? Are there any Penn Staters that you think would fit nicely on your roster? Or are there players from across the country that youâd love to see in your teamâs colors?
Locally, the New York Giants could use some interior lineman help, and I would love it if they went and got Vega Ioane. They also need secondary help, and if heâs still available in rounds 2-3, Zakee Wheatley would be a good get in my opinion. The running back room also leaves something to be desired, so either Nicholas Singleton or Kaytron Allen would help out the G-Men in the middle rounds.
Nationally, and particularly in the first round, the Giants suddenly have two top 10 picks. As I said, their offensive line, particularly the interior, has been in need of top talent for some time. Ioane appears to check the boxes, but if they donât want to spend a top 10 pick on a guard, thereâs a chance that someone like Emmanuel Pregnon from Oregon or Chase Bisontis from Texas A&M could be available early in the second round.
I hate to say it, but I would be shocked if the Giants donât nab at least one Ohio State player in the first round. Aside from guard, their other big needs are safety, linebacker, and wide receiver. It just so happens that OSU has three players that all could be top 10 picks in S Caleb Downs, LB Sonny Styles, and WR Carnell Tate. It wouldnât surprise me to hear any of their names being called at either #5 or #10.
But what about you? What does your team need, and who do you think (or hope) theyâll draft this weekend?
