• Washington’s Men’s Rowing team brought a #1 ranking in the country into this weekend’s Windemere Cup. The national ranking, however, was not enough to make them favorites over Great Britain, who came into the race as defending Olympic Gold Medalists. The result was as close as you would expect when two #1 teams face off with one another. The Dawgs won the closest Windemere Cup race is the 40 year history of the event by .165 seconds. Congrats to the Husky rowers!

• Through spring practices, reporters covering the Huskies tend to rotate through position groups while players and coaches for those groups are available to the media. On the heels of UW’s spring game, Mike Vorel zoomed out to look at the team as a whole and opined that the team’s success will ultimately rest of the shoulders of Demond Williams. Unpopular as he is (deservedly), Williams showed the ability to take over games last season. If he can extend that ability to the top few teams on UW’s schedule, it could be the key that unlocks UW’s ascent to CFP contender status.
