The signing of Munetaka Murakami is looking better and better every single game for the Chicago White Sox. Some teams have to be banging their heads on the wall that they weren't more aggressive in trying to acquire him during the offseason.
Through 24 games this season, the Japanese slugger is hitting .256/.404/.622 with 10 home runs, 19 runs batted in, and 21 walks. He has the second-most home runs across MLB, just one shy of tying Houston Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez.
He is pretty much all people are talking about in Chicago, and for good reason. He is a large portion of the club's offense.

Colson Montgomery was a player who turned heads last season. He has been a great compliment to Murakami this season, hitting seven home runs so far this year.
But it's not just those two that are doing good things for the South Siders. Bleacher Report's Zachary D. Rymer also suggests pitcher and outfielder are playing like standouts as well.

Thankfully for the Pale Hose, his 10 homers make up a sizable chunk of the share, and they've all been crushed. Yet save for Davis Martin and Everson Pereira, this White Sox team is otherwise largely devoid of standouts and, yeah, still just kind of bad. The rebuild is very much ongoing, in other words."
Now looking past Montgomery, Murakami, Pereira, and Martin, there isn't much to write home about. The starting rotation is not great, and neither is the bullpen.
It may not be long until the team calls up some of their top prospects, like Braden Montgomery, who is off to a blistering start in the minors.
