Myles Turner criticized Giannis Antetokounmpo during a podcast, suggesting he shows up when he wants. This comes after the Bucks' disappointing season and coaching changes.
The big move that the Milwaukee Bucks made last summer was to acquire former Indiana Pacers star Myles Turner to play alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo.
It didn't exactly work out great and the Bucks ended up missing the postseason as well as firing former head coach Doc Rivers. As it turns out, Antetokounmpo is once again reading his name on trade rumor headlines. Turner, who recently appeared on a podcast episode with two-time WNBA Finals MVP Breanna Stewart, shared his thoughts.
He was not shy about criticizing Antetokounmpo (via Game Recognize Game):
"Giannis. Giannis is going to show up whenever he wants, really," Turner said. "I think that this kind of just came with the territory that -- and once I saw it was going down, I was like, 'Hey man, s---, more power to you. They ain't going to fine you. S---, do what you do.'"
Turner added players were late all the time, including tardiness for film sessions and to the plane.
He said eventually, he didn't even begin showing up until an hour after the plane was scheduled to leave the airport because he knew it wasn't going to depart on time.
The Bucks recently hired former Memphis Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins to replace Rivers. His tenure with the team may have a significant different feeling with or without Antetokounmpo.
