What the Jets are getting:
A gritty, hard-nosed wideout who fought and grinded his way to being his team’s top wideout on a run to the National Championship after three seasons playing in a backup or rotational role. Cooper came up with the catch of the year in his team’s narrow victory over Penn State during the regular season, and that play itself is just an encapsulation of what he brings to an NFL team. The 6’0 receiver plays above himself with a feisty mentality that is shown in the way he fights through tackles and maximizes his touches. While not a prototypical WR1 at the next level, Cooper will most certainly provide a team with a fun WR2/3 who has a chance to outplay his spot on the depth chart.
