Nebraska softball (36-6, 17-1) concluded its series in Minnesota (14-30, 6-12) on Sunday. The Huskers got the sweep, picking up an 11-2 six-inning win. The team outscored their opponent 32-4 in the series.
Minnesota did take the lead in the bottom of the first, going up 2-1 over Nebraska. But the Huskers quickly responded in the second, taking a 3-2 lead. Nebraska pulled away in the final three innings, scoring a combined eight runs.
The Huskers tallied 15 hits in the win and held the Golden Gophers to three, two coming in the first inning. Jesse Farrell drove in a team-high three RBIs in the win after batting 3-for-4. She hit an RBI single, a two-run home run and a double.
Kacie Hoffmann, Samantha Bland, Lauren Camenzind and Bella Bacon all pitched in one RBI. Hoffman, Bland and Bacon all struck two hits as well. Hannah Coor batted 2-for-2 with two walks.
Jordy Frahm (13-4) hit 2-for-4 with two RBIs, delivering a two-run home run in the fourth. She also earned the win in the circle after pitching the final 4.0 innings. Frahm fired six strikeouts and allowed no hits, no walks and no runs.
The Huskers return to the state but will visit Omaha for a Tuesday night clash with the Mavericks. The first pitch is set for 6 p.m. CT on Nebraska Public Media and B1G+.
