New York Giants held pre-draft visit with Utah OT Caleb Lomu

The New York Giants hosted Utah offensive tackle Caleb Lomu for a pre-draft visit at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center in East Rutherford, as confirmed by a photo Lomu shared on his Instagram story.

Lomu, a 6-foot-6, 313-pound redshirt sophomore, has emerged as one of the more intriguing prospects in the 2026 NFL draft class. A four-star recruit out of Highland High School in Arizona, he redshirted in 2023 before becoming the Utes' starting left tackle in 2024.

He started 24 consecutive games at the position to close out his college career, earning Freshman All-American honors and First-team All-Big 12 recognition in 2025 while allowing just 17 pressures and two sacks in his breakout campaign.

Lomu is an intriguing prospect with a skill set that, if developed properly, could result in the 6-foot-6, 313-pounder becoming a starting left tackle in the league. He's not necessarily a plug-and-play lineman, so it'd be interesting to see if the Giants view him as someone who can kick inside to guard. Lomu has started 24 consecutive games at left tackle to finish his college career.

With the Giants selecting fifth overall in the first round, Lomu projects as a potential late first-round target. Though the team may not have an immediate need at offensive tackle, his combination of size, athleticism, and upside could warrant some consideration if the Giants seek to bolster their line depth or explore positional versatility.

Still, an early selection of Lomu seems highly unlikely.
