According to Tony Pauline of Essentially Sports, the Jets have a plan for the 13-touchdown wide receiver out of Indiana, Omar Cooper Jr., in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. And despite having an interest in Cooper, Round 1 doesn't look likely.
"While the team does like wideout Omar Cooper, and some have mocked the IU wideout to the Jets at 16, I'm told they would not select Cooper earlier than pick No. 33, which opens Day 2."
Cooper is someone the Jets have been strongly linked to as the draft approaches, but this report from Pauline indicates that the plan isn't to take Cooper at No. 16, but rather No. 33 overall.
