Cleveland Browns trade down in 2026 NFL draft, adding picks.

The Cleveland Browns are considering moving up in the second round of the NFL Draft after trading down from the No. 6 pick. They have already selected offensive tackle Spencer Fano and wide receiver KC Concepcion in the first round.
With night two of the NFL Draft just around the corner, the Cleveland Browns are seemingly not done making moves throughout the highly anticipated event.
On Thursday, general manager Andrew Berry managed to trade down from the No. 6 pick with the Kansas City Chiefs, which led to the Browns selecting Utah star offensive tackle Spencer Fano with the No. 9 pick. In addition to bolstering the front line, Cleveland also selected Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion with the No. 24 pick, giving the offense two new rookies heading into the 2026 season.
However, Berry and the front office may not be done making big splashes within the draft.
Earlier this afternoon, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that the Browns are one of four teams that could look to move up in the second round, along with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the New Orleans Saints, and the Miami Dolphins.
While Berry and company have used a majority of their resources this offseason on offensive players, Cleveland kept their defensive additions to a minimum throughout free agency and the draft. After losing veteran linebacker Devin Bush in free agency, the Browns replaced him with former New York Jets linebacker Quincy Williams.

Trading down from the No. 6 pick allowed the Browns to acquire additional assets while still securing key players to enhance their roster.

However, outside of Williams, Cleveland continued its focus on offense leading up to the 2026 NFL Draft. But for the organization to maintain its status as one of the best defenses in the NFL, it's clear that Berry and the front office must upgrade a few pieces within the unit, including the defensive back room heading into next season.
One name that makes perfect sense for the Browns is Toledo safety Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, who is coming off a terrific season with the Rockets in 2025. The 22-year-old defensive weapon recorded 77 tackles, 5.5 tackles for losses, five pass deflections, and two interceptions last year. McNiel-Warren's versatility on defense would make him a perfect chess piece for the newly-hired defensive coordinator Mike Rutenburg, who has experience coaching high-level safeties in Atlanta Falcons' Jessie Bates and Xavier Watts.
