The Kansas City Chiefs are set to play one of their biggest rivals on Thanksgiving Day, as the NFL slotted in the Bills to face KC.
The Kansas City Chiefs are a premier franchise in the NFL. When you win a lot of games and a few Super Bowls in the span of a decade, the NFL will want to put you on TV at the most crucial times, and we have seen that with the Chiefs time and time again.
Despite 2025 being as bad as it was, 2026 will be no different-the NFL wants Patrick Mahomes and friends on TV. Even last season, they had far too many National TV games and Holiday games. This year could be the same, as we already know about two. The Week 1 schedule has been partially leaked, and the Chiefs will start the season at home against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football on ESPN.
And according to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, KC will play the Buffalo Bills on Thanksgiving Day, at 7:20 local time on NBC. Adding this game to that slate makes the Thanksgiving Day slate maybe the most stacked ever.
And if the Chiefs are good, which they should easily be better than they were last year, KC will be the cherry on top to end the night. Plus, the game is at the Buffalo Bills’ new stadium, which hasn't hosted an official game yet.

If we are talking about Thanksgiving Weekend, it's certainly the most stacked slate ever. It starts on Wednesday with the Green Bay Packers playing the Los Angeles Rams in a game that could have major implications in the NFC. Then, the three games on Thursday consist of the Chicago Bears at the Detroit Lions, and the Philadelphia Eagles at the Dallas Cowboys, before KC's game.
Then, on Black Friday, the Denver Broncos head to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers. The Chiefs are 5-5 all-time on Thanksgiving Day, with their last loss coming last year to the Cowboys, 31-28. They are 31-26-1 against the Bills, all-time, including postseason games. In recent years, the Chiefs have lost to the Bills, but have found a way to get their revenge back in the postseason. If KC is good enough in 2026, we could see something similar.
