To celebrate the Cadillac Formula 1 Team's first home grand prix, Nike has crafted an ultra-limited bespoke pair of Dunk Low trainers, according to Hypebeast.
However, fans hoping to secure a piece of the unique merchandise will be left disappointed, as the footwear is solely for Cadillac F1 CEO Dan Towriss and his wife, and chief brand advisor, Cassidy Towriss.
The design mirrors that of the American outfit's special Miami Grand Prix livery with the monochrome theme and stars on the side of the heel. The Cadillac branding also appears on the tongue and heel of the trainer.
Cassidy Towriss described the special Miami livery as a "natural extension".
"The Cadillac Formula 1 Team’s special Miami Grand Prix livery is a natural extension and speaks without excess. It's deliberate and confident," she said. "This is our first home race, and it mattered to us that fans still recognize what they've come to know. I can’t wait for the crowd to see it on track for the first time. There's no place like home."
Cadillac arrives at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami for its first home F1 race. After Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas finished the sprint race in 16th and 19th, respectively, they will line up on the Miami Grand Prix starting grid in 19th and 20th.
"Racing at home for the first time is a major milestone for this team and something we’ve been looking forward to for a long time," Dan Towriss said ahead of the race weekend.
"There’s a lot of pride in representing the United States as the American team, especially in front of our home fans. We understand what that means, and we’re focused on showing up and delivering for them."
The team, which joined the F1 grid at the start of the season as the 11th team, currently sits 10th in the constructors' standings, ahead of only Aston Martin.
